As title states...just got me a 360 Arcade from Newegg...love the Jasper. Also grabbed a 60GB HDD etc. I know I probably got the wrong system for this question, but regardless...what are some good games that my GF and I would enjoy together? What we have so far is:

Gears 2 - Too intense for her.

Shaun White Snowboarding - Didn't realize you can't split screen...WTF? Ruins that..should've checked ahead of time.

Fuzion Frenzy 2 - She enjoys this a bit.

Burnout Paradise - Again, no split screen, plus a bit too GTA'ish and it confuses her easily..I guess I can get Revenge.

We got Hasbro Family Game Night off Live..but $10 a game? Sheesh...

So what am I missing? I guess I should've gotten the Wii, but I guess I just can't take it seriously for any solo gameplay (by myself).

Any hidden gems, or fun things you've found...that you can enjoy with your SO?

The girl and I play a lot of co-op games - we enjoy:

- The Maw (XBLA) - Actually 1 player but incredibly amusing so it's fun just to watch
- Castle Crashers (XBLA) - 4 players on one screen
- Watchmen: The End Is Nigh (XBLA) - Intelligently uses a split screen or just one when you're close together
- Fable II - A second player can jump in/out at any time to help out in battles, but must remain on the same screen which is a little awkward
- Lego Anything

Cool those sound good. I figured the XBLA games would be best since they're simpler. Lego games eh? I've seen them...just never messed with them. Thanks...we'll check some of those out tonight.

Any other ideas?

If GoW is too intense I'll take all FPS/TPS games off the suggestions list.

Yeah, the Lego games are great (haven't tried Batman, but the Star Wars and Indiana Jones games are fun). Try one of the GH or RB games if you're into music games. Maybe pick up a simpler racing game like Project Gotham 3, even better if you have some steering wheels. Pick up Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection which is like 30+ old Sega Genesis games in one bundle. If she doesn't mind "beat 'em up's" you can find Marvel: Ultimate Alliance dirt cheap for sure...I dunno, my wife doesn't play the 360 so we don't really have many co-op games.

XBLA is your friend when looking for co-op. Bomberman Live is supposed to be alot of fun, I don't know what all's available. I got Aegis Wing and Cassarone for free a while ago, both are decent, dunno if they're still free or not.

Pick up Portal and Geometry Wars, they're single player but they're almost as much fun to watch as they are to play :p

BTW, where'd you pick up your 60GB HDD?

Puzzle Fighter <- My wife and I play the crap out of it.

Viva Pinata II... if you can handle it. :) It has a "coop" mode.

It's hard for us to recommend a game for her.

It would help if you posted lots of pictures of her. I think that would help us a little bit with the recommendations. The more pics the better.

Thanks for the ideas. I got the HDD from Newegg. It was $100 and it came with a Live headset and a 3 month Gold card. Not too shabby really.

This varies a good bit from girl to girl but I've known some girls that do actually like fighting games so you might want to see if she'll enjoy Street Fighter 4. Guitar Hero: World Tour & Rock Band 2 are solid recommendations. Might also help to know what types of games she typically does enjoy.

Viva Pinata (Sims like) and Bust-A-Move (Bejeweled like). Essentially, my SO takes my beautiful gaming hardware and uses it to play such graphic inducing games such as... Tetris. Anyways, you don't need a whole library -- these two should keep her entertained long enough that it will be time for her to go bake you a pie or get you a beer or something.

LOL

My GF loves to blow shit up... we do GoW (1 and 2), Halo (1,2 and 3), but she also likes RB and GH, and racing games, and RGPs. ... Maybe your woman would enjoy some of the arcade games they got on Live.
old school ones i enjoy:
Sonic 2
Galaga
Braid is suppose to be good.
Bionic Commando - haven' t played it yet, suppose to be good, too

Portal - not on live, but lots of fun to play and watch.

good luck!
