Just got a 2005fpw NEED HELP !!!

I want to make sure my monitor is not mashed up (because Purolator is evil). What progs do I use to test for this stuff? Also, should I install any drivers?

What color are they? Other than white/black, others are stuck I think, meaning you can sometimes fix them. If I were you and had a display with that many pixels, I wouldn't worry. You're not going to notice them. I have 2 dead pixels on my 1280x1024 LCD, I don't notice them.

I have no idea, they look whitish but when you look close it looks like it has several colors (sort of like light passing through a crystal prism). So far I can't notice them anywhere. As long as I don't seem them in games etc, it's all good.

It'll be fine; even pixels in obvious locations don't usually represent a problem except for the most picky of the Mr. Picky's...

i hate people that are like"oh only if you're picky". you paid hundreds of dollars for that monitor. do whatever makes you happy, not what these guys tell you.

Dell has really good support.. my 2405FPW came with 1 DEAD pixel and I e-mailed them..

The next day I recieved my replacement 2405 and I was lucky enough to have a perfect monitor.. shipped my old monitor back to them the same day all at no cost.

I have a stuck grey pixel in the upper right quadrant of my 2005FPW. Rarely notice it except when viewing something with a lot of white. Yes, I understand that peopple pay hundreds for the monitors but the monitors themselves usually come with a disclaimer saying that it's not considered a defective monitor unless X number of pixels are reached. It's up to you the consumer to be aware of what you're buying and what the pitfalls to buying said products are. Reputable companies, like Newegg, will clearly state what the return policy is.

Yup, that's right. Why should Dell have responsibility if your product got damaged because the Fedex guy dropped it, etc? I say use it (you probably won't notice it) or exchange it now while you're still under the no questions asked policy. If it was in a random location I wouldn't go through the bother myself. Trust me, if you can deal with the motion blur, you'll have no problems dealing with one dead pixel.
