Can't complain. Drives great. Handles awesome. Interior is plush and comfortable. Just need to get some new rims (no, not chrome or anything, just some upgraded audi stock tires - like 18" alloy)

nice, personally i would rather go for an A4. But good to buy a used Audi. they depreciate real fast.

From what I've read, they are reliable. I also got a decent warranty with it, so I should be alright. And, I love wood grain trim for some reason. I wish there was some on the steering wheel.

I know - I wish. They didn't have any in stock and plus would've been slightly higher than what I am paying monthly, so it's all good. Still a great car.

Not particularly - their reliability ratings are below average, with particular problems with electronics.

My boss has an A8 and it has been to the shop at least 5 times in the past year. In all fairness it has mostly been recurrences of the same problem - a panel in the wooden dash trim rotates up to reveal the nav/MMI screen, and the motor keeps breaking, over and over and over. Honestly I am not that impressed with the car - the plastics aren't as nice as I would have expected, and the headliner feels kinda nasty for a car of that caliber. I haven't driven it, but I imagine it's nice . . .

Is it the new A8?

I believe it's a 2006. Haven't they made some minor changes to the A8 for 2007?

Sorry, I was talking about the models that have been redesigned since the old frame/bodywork (my model). There has been problems with the re-designed A8 and they have been having a hard time selling them. But, as far as my 2004 the reliability is supposed to be good.

That's great - I hope you enjoy your car. BTW, I didn't mean to piss in your cornflakes at all - I myself will definitely be moving from more or less perfectly-reliable Japanese cars to a less-reliable German car (probably a BMW) next time I get a new one, and I think the German cars offer real upside even to the extent they aren't the most reliable.

In any case, congrats!

One thing to watch out for, do not let the water drainage hole beneath the battery get clogged.

I have a 2001 A6 2.7T, I have had no problems with it. All maintainance until 2005 was covered including scheduled check ups. Great ride, good AWD. Heavy steel and great crash test results. I got it for the wife so that she and the kid are safe.
