Got into a car accident a week ago. Some dude hit me from behind. The money is to fix my car but it's not a big deal, so i'm going to keep the money instead.

As long as you own the car and don't mind taking less down the road when you sell it or trade it in because of the damage then enjoy the money. If you are leasing, you might want to get the repairs while you have the money. Also, if it involves a paint job, you might want to get the work done now as the longer you wait the harder it can be for the bodyshop to match the paint.

I have a 1990 Mazda Protege, it's not the best car around so I don't mind a few dings. Don't really care about the paint either.

:) I only paid $1000 for the car a year ago, hey, i'm getting 80% of it back.

heheh, True True.

But I don't need a phone. :)

If your name is on that defaulted bill, it will haunt you down the road. Trust me, I know.

hey! i have one of those , still going strong, except the A/C went out two years ago

my wife got rear ended in it a couple years ago, i just went to the bone yard and got a new bumper, pounded the trunk back 1/2 inch and bolted it on, no problem :D (and only cost 1/3 of what the insurance paid)

Wow, 80% back......that's pretty nice. Go spend $300 more ontop of what you got back on car components, so the parts inside your car will be worth more than the car itself. :)

I got a $2500 check for getting backed into last summer in my GTi. It was ooooh so tempting just to spend $300 and replace the hatch on my own and pocket $2200. But, I decided to go ahead and have the work done on it.
