Just got 4 wisdom teeth pulled.

Got back from the oral surgeon about 10 minutes ago. I was awake the whole time. Doesn't hurt yet, but I know it will.
 
I was asleep when they pulled my wisdom teeth out. It was painless, and except for the numbness and soft foods for about 24 hours, it was a much better experience than I expected. About 30 hours after I got all four pulled, I was eating chinese food. 🙂

My experience sucked bad. Maybe I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, but I felt very uncomfortable. And yes, I did get all four pulled out at the same time. Good luck!
 
One word for you:

Ice

Keep it iced all day (strap ice packs to your face if you have to) & you won't have any significant swelling.

Yeah, the doc told me to keep ice 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off all day.
 
I remember when I got my 4 wisdom teeth cut out almost a year ago. A week of constant pain .... ouch!!
 
If your doctor did a good job you won't hurt at all. If on the other hand they did a crappy job you'll feel it when the numbing wears off. I got all four taken out at once and had to take one minor pain pill. I did not use any of the vicidon or whatever it was they gave me.
 
When the first 2 were pulled, I was out for 3 days. What a freakin butcher. The 3rd was pulled just before a 20 mile hike in the usmc. The fourth was several years after that, totally painless!!

 
Anybody know what it costs to get all four yanked? I don't have dental coverage, but I really need to get it done sometime.

For my four teeth (and twilight anaesthesia) it was between $1200-$1400 before insurance kicked in.

After insurance took care of their part, my parents paid about $85. 🙂
 
here's an idea, vicodine and beer. 😀 sur was nice w/ my first extraction. ^^ then you can say hi to your chipmonk self the next morning 😛

after the tooth gets pulled, a blood clot forms to stop the bleeding. that's all good until the pressure from sucking on a straw of inhaling a cig or whatever else pulls the clot away. then you'll have to endure a week of pain and having food particles get stuck in the socket where your tooth used to be. no fun.

my first extraction, i had tocohell that night, since i didnt' eat all day, and the damn rice got stuck in the socket, and trying to swish it out gave me a dry socket.. it sucked. then i got my wisdom tooth pulled, i stayed away from anything that would get stuck in the socket. (i had 3 pulled)
 
The suckiest part was when the docs said to go right home and eat. Anesthesia was still in, so I couldn't really control my mouth....all the water leaked right out after I put it in!

After the anesthesia wore out, I took one pain pill and I found that's all I needed. Nonetheless, the diet was very limiting for about the next 4 days and quite limiting for about another 4 days. Overall, it was doable, especially since I did this during a winter break 🙂
