Just got 32GB kit. Now it shows its 28.62 total

Half the ram is working on one of the sticks. How should I go about troubleshooting this the easiest way. Thanks

Weird problem I took out 3 of the sticks and put them back and it shows 32.72GB instead of 24GB then it went to 28GB ,,,,,, How I fixed is taking out 3 of the ram, make sure one works,,, then put them back in in different order....... baaaam it worked........
