Now i know everyone has had times in their life where they say "I am tired of all this. This place is boring. I need a change.
Would you ever 'really' just pack up your things, and take off to another town far, far away? Just leave your friends, maybe some girlfriends, your family and just move away to where no one knows you. What would it take for you to actually reach the point of doing it?
Where have you always wanted to go and live? I want to find a small town where everyone knows everyone, and i can hook in with the local bankers daughter and have a farm in the mountain region. Or Alaska and get some Northern Exposure.

More and more since my divorce, i want to pack things up and find a new town where everything will be fresh. Someday i will follow this urge.

You know, due the extreme overpopulation which currently prevades planet Earth, the likelyhood of that actually happening is nil.

I did, Pittsburgh to Phoenix. 6 years later I'm still here, although I can't say for certain that I'm happier or have accomplished more than if I had stayed.

That's how I ended ip in Atlanta. I was tired of the same old routine and a failing relationship. It was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Before 2003....nah, wouldn't have crossed my mind....

Now.....is almost tempting enough, I would wanna go live in the middle of nowhere, in a lodge/shack in the highlands of scotland....and get a local bankers daughter to marry me....maybe have a farm.....hey wait a SECOND!! :D

I can see that moose wandering past your window now.....

I did the same thing when I was 18. I grew up in a small town in New York that didn't really offer anything for me besides drugs. My parents were getting divorced so my home life was pretty much garbage and I needed a change. I moved to Virginia to both attend school and get away and start fresh. Other than some financial concerns I've been happier than I have been in a while. It's a good thing to do as long as you have a job or something waiting so you can transition easier.

Move somewhere warm!

If I have no one to care for (outside of my parents), then I wouldn't mind upping and leaving to someplace like the MD suburbs...

I've had it with NY... would be nice for a change. I work remote anyway... doesn't matter where I go.

Sort of. I moved to a different part of the state two days before I started working for a new employer. Didn't know anyone. Didn't know the area. All I knew how to do was get from work to home.

life's too short for "someday".

there's lots of room left out there, even in ny you can buy large tracts of land for $40k(my bro did it) where you're miles away from your neighbors.

good luck
