just found out my mom has lupis

Well, I just found out. Kind of scary. Anyone know anything about it because I am clueless.. she waited like 5 months to tell me, what is up with that, she should have told me right away. Only reason she told me is because I had to take her to the doctor friday and I asked her why she had been going to the doctor so much and she finnaly told me. ... any information would be great.

Basically (and I mean very basically), lupus is an incurable immune system disorder. It tells your body to attack itself; it can range from very mild (Discoid Lupus - rashes) to severe (Systemic - organ failure). Like a lot of other immune disorders, it can go into remission or it can flare up.

You can live with lupus, which it sounds like your mom has been doing. I'm sure it would be a comfort to her for you to read up on and understand what it is she's dealing with - and she should be talking to you about it and letting you know what you can do to help and how things are going.

She should have told you right away, but she probably didn't because 1)she neaded time to get used to the idea and adjust herself and 2) she didn't want to worry you.

Why don't you both go to the doc for a question and answer session?
