Just found out my car has a AC plug

It could be a number of things. An AC plug could be any of four things:

1. It could be a plug that is connected to a 110 VAC converter that was added on to your alternator. These are not suitable for electronics and output is dirty.

2. It could be an extra outlet that was installed as part of a winterizing package where the car is plugged in at night. The car would have to be plugged in during use, the outlet could be used for a small heater to warm the interior of the car.

3. It could be an add on inverter and I know nothing about it or its output.

4. Other, just about anything.

I use a 300 watt 12VDC to 110 VAC inverter to power mine in the car. It costs $39.99 and it plugs in the cigarette lighter.

You could plug in a power stripe and then plug in your computer, multiple monitors, a tv, a nintendo wii, and a nice speaker system.

Have you tested the AC outlet? Start with something small like a razor or an electric blender. Then try an arc welder.
