I had an acquaintance that I worked with. He was friends with some of my friends from school so we would talk and BS at work, sometimes would hang out together when we had the group out or whatever. He was a big car and car audio guy. Also into firearms, along with 2-3 others from the group. So we would go shooting and stuff.
One day he up and decided to join the Army. I never found out what he was going in for, and when he shipped off I didn't hear much from him because we weren't that good friends, just acquaintances as stated earlier. A few months back I asked one of our mutual friends if he had heard from him and if so what he was doing. He had talked to him awhile back and wasn't sure what he was doing exactly, but it was something like a combat medic.
So I got his email address and asked him what he was up to. Got a reply yesterday and it turns out he got selected for SF and is on the last phase of the Q-Course (technically not SF tabbed yet, but pretty damn close), and been assigned as an 18D (SF Medical Sergeant). Pretty badass if you ask me. I've always been fascinated with Spec Ops in general, and now I know a real life one. I'm hoping he can make it back to town so I can pick his brain about it.
