Just found a nice shortcut in Firefox.

I suppose this is to be found in the User's Manual but I thought I'd share.

If you just type the name of a website like nvidia you would just press the Control key and then Enter and it would complete the URL. I suppose you all knew that.
But if you type the domain name and hold the Shift key while you press enter you get .net.
If you press both Ctrl and Shift and then Enter you get .org.

I don't think that's a useful feature, because If you type nvidia alone and press go or press enter firefox will automatically find the address.

i like highlighting the word or phrase and the right click and select "search web for [highlighted phrase]"

yes the ctrl-enter thing was taken from IE. And about it not being useful because it will find it by just typing NVIDIA... you're asking FF to execute a search on the word and it returns the first result. This undoubtedly takes longer than hitting ctrl-enter.
