It was a "do it now or lose sleep and do it later kinda thing". Ate some food that'd been sitting in the fridge too long I guess...

EDIT: for some reason i thougth i'd feel fine after doing it...u know...able to go about my business. But after purging I feel just like I'd feel if I had really been sick!

I've tried it too (after I watched "Real Life" show on MTV about purgers ;) ). it was disgusting, but that might have been because it was spinach pizza. Maybe I'll try cookies and milk next time, or a gallon of ice cream ;)

Agreed. Also, anorexia is the disease where one does not eat; bulimia is the disease where you purge yourself after eating.
Learn something new everyday. Anyways, i fail to see how this coudl be habit forming.

It isn't a habit, it is a psychological condition. These people believe that they are fat, even if they weigh like 60 pounds. They constantly strive to be thinner and thinner, sometimes to the point of killing themselves from starvation.

I used to purge several times a day when I was a teenager. I was always made fun of for having a gut. After a while the gut was gone I joined the weight lifting team and was really buff for a long time.

Now I'm in my thirties, sit at a desk all day, the gut has come back and the muscles are gone. Haven't had a much of a desire to purge again though. I guess the therapy worked!

Anyway, most people don't enjoy vomiting, but for bulimics there's a tremendous sense of relief along with a feeling of control. It's almost like getting high.

I also tried this once. It was in college, a race 10 vs. 10 to see who could polish off a keg first. I was full beyond full so I did the deed.

You could of filled a mug up and not known the difference :p.

Yes, we won. What did we win? Another keg to polish off at a leisurely pace :D.

...except instead of feeling good, you feel like you just puked. Seems like a good analogy to me.

Seriously, i saw some real life show where this slightly chubby chick puked all the time, and when she was in her room she showed the cameras this bin she had in her closet that she'd puke into when she couldnt get to the bathroom without her mom seeing her. If i was her therapist i'd have her bring the bin in, shove her face in it and make her promise that she'd never puke again with her face still in her disgusting rotting vomit. What a fvcking sickening thing to do.

It is useful when *very* drunk and you want to go to sleep. I've never done it personally but have had friends who have.

Makes me feel better, like I got it out of my system.

I'll do it from time to time when I'm drinking, when I can feel I've drunk too much or too fast and am going to be sick.
