I don't have the time to RMA my 680i-AR so I recently flashed it to the P30 bios. When I flashed it, set some manual settings, rebooted, and it wouldn't POST. I cleared the CMOS, tried again. It booted and went into Windows and crashed. It rebooted and these are the settings that came up.

Screenshot

5.333GHz (333*16) on a Q6600! Unlocked Multiplier! Well, just a BIOS fault.
It crashed and reverted back to defaults when I tried to boot into Windows.

heard someone actually got a c2d up to 5ghz but that's probably with extremem cooling tho. Quads I haven't seen anything close to 5. nice one.

I still wonder what caused the board to switch to 16x Multi on a locked multi Q6600....

Ugh you are scaring me. I have the same board (AR), which has worked flawlessly for me on an e6600. I have a quad core coming. I also updated to the latest eVGA .30 bios and with my current e6600 it works just fine -- rock stable.

Are you saying that when you slapped in the Q6600 it all went to crud?

no. it works fine. it just had a little blip when i first updated the BIOS. but you can't OC a quad really well, if at all, on the AR revision. You're better off going to the eVGA site right now and signing up for their "Upgrade to Quad" 680i program, where they'll Advance RMA an A1 revision to you. That's what I'm doing soon.
