Although I quit smoking months ago (3 months, in fact), I've had a pack of cigarettes in my car for quite some time now.

So today I decided that I felt like I'll never need them again. A few minutes ago, I took the oppurtunity to tear them apart and flushed them down. It was quite fun.

And so ends the tale of yet another moron who liked tobacco. I guess this marks the end of my fun with the stuff.

You know you're capable of quitting shy - it's going to be a great accomplishment when you finally konw that your life is not dependent on cigs. Good luck =)

Good luck to you dude. I'm still fighting the battle.

Just don't turn into one of those reformers who goes around telling everyone else how bad they are for smoking. :)

Nah, I'll never be one of those. Lots of my friends still smoke and my lady friend enjoys a cigarette on occasion when shes drinking, so I'm not gonna be that guy whos always chewing people out about it.

What I hate even more is people who have never smoked but always tell people how bad they are for smoking. They're so ignorant and don't even realize it.

What makes them ignorant? So it's okay for a smoker to say smoking is bad, but not a non-smoker? The non-smokers were smart enough not to try it in the first place. At least that's how i see it.

Congrats on quitting...must've been tough

They're ignorant for telling smokers, "you know, you really shouldn't smoke" every fifteen minutes. Everyone who has ever smoked knows somebody who is like that, some person born and raised in a bubble and ignorant to how things are in the real world.

Sure, they're smart enough to not have smoked in the first place, but that doesn't mean they have any idea what they're talking about it.

i personally like a cig every once in awhile. Say after a big thanksgiving feast, or at a party after drinking. Right now I haven't had any for awhile since i'vve been running more and what not. People that smoke bash suck.

This is good news - you have progressed quite well and I'm sure most smokers would be envious. Now, you should find a way to reward yourself. Assuming you smoked a pack a day ($3.00 x 7 = $21.00) or, $84.00 a month. This is a nice chunk of change.

Shy: First off congratulations on stopping! That's quite a feat! Ok now down to business....your comment about people who've never smoked being ignorant is full of fallacies. By your logic, people who've never had "crack" or "heroin" shouldn't tell people to not do those drugs because well...they've never tried it before. It doesn't make them "ignorant", true some are a$$es about it...but more often than not it's becuase smokers are puffing in their face and they can't breathe.

First off congrats

Second I couldn't care less what anybody breathes in, its what they breath out and I have to smell that troubles me. Although I have to say I'm really not very assertive living here in the smoking capital of the US(Detroit). But, I've stopped going to my favorite Blues bar because of the smoke.

<< wow, i just started. Now i want to quit >>

Well, if you do, good luck.

Since you just started, I imagine you won't have the withdrawl symptoms as bad as if you decided to quit years from now. It won't be that bad.

Just keep in mine that (supposedly) every cigaratte takes 7 minutes off your life expectancy. A pack, therefore, takes away over two hours from your life.

I don't know about you, but if I were dying, I'd be wanting every last hour I could get :D
