Heh, I was gonna buy one those back in 1995.... opted for a PSX instead. Glad I did. :)

The 3DO I was going to buy was made by Panasonic or somebody... can't remember offhand.

Honestly I think the Samurai Showdown series is my favorite of that type of game, way better than Mortal Combat.

I actually thought it was really fun. I can't remember this one awesome game... you had these hovercrafts and you tried to shoot a ball into the other person's goal or something. Oh Battlesport! That's the game, that game rocked like none other. And yeah Samurai Showdown rocked too :D

think it was closer to $700 at launch.

I picked up a new design panasonic from best buy when they were clearing them out - paid something like $80 for it.

Ya, a mint 3DO cost a cool $700 at launch. Need for Speed was pretty awesome at that time, and that game demo in stores sold quite a few of those.

This was the first Naughty Dog game...yes, they like to say that Crash Bandicoot was their first game, but in fact it was Way of the Warrior, a Mortal Kombat-esque 3DO game, which was actually a ton of fun, had a TON of secret moves/characters, and for me and my buddies made the cost of the system worthwhile...

Samurai Showdown is/was a Neo Geo game, and much better on that system anyway...

Anyone remember the TurboGraphX 16? I think that was the most ahead of it's time and under rated system of all time (especially with the CD add-on)... The idea of the turbo Xpress was awesome too- play the same exact cartridges as your home system on a handheld! brilliant!

The ORIGINAL Need For Speed was awesome.

I remember my mother drove and a FMV came up with guy telling her "You suck more than a Hoover with a full bag." LOL

My friend bought a 3do from a goodwill up in richmond for $5. We first thought it was $15, but it ended up being a scrape on the price tag. Needless to say we never found any games for it, and didn't really want to buy any of them for ebay. Still worked though, played micheal jackson's greatest hits on it, with the VLM thing :).

Why is it that no one can spelled Mortal Kombat correctly?

As for the 3DO.....wow. I remember reading about that system in GamePro and laughing. ;)

I've been waiting for a good deal for one of those. I have pretty much every other 32 bit system but that (and most other systems period).

They're getting tough to find and when I last looked on ebay they were nuts with the prices they were going for. I don't know if they've come down at all buy I doubt it.

IMO, 3DO had 3 of the best multiplayer games ever. As mentioned, Samurai Showdown being one, along with FIFA Soccer (this game was insanely good). Also, there was some split screen army game where you fought against another human. Can't remember the name, but I think it made IGNs list for one of the top 100 games of alltime.

Return Fire was the name of the game I couldn't think of. #56 on IGNs list. If you haven't played it, you are definetely missing out. That is a game they should remake. Implement online play and you got a million seller game.
