I don't own a television, and what little I see when I'm at friends houses I typically get bored with quick and ignore. I know there have been other threads about this show. But god damn it was good. Season 2 was a bit slow, but it really helped with the story. Every character was believable, great fucking story. No spoilers for those who haven't seen it and might, but a lot of sad shit happened. To go from maybe an hour of TV a month to 60 episodes of this over maybe 4 weeks is a crazy turn. A shame this show ended when it did, there was still some story left to tell and some unresolved shit.

Omar has to be one of the best characters in any show ever, fucking phenomenal acting job Michael Williams.

I thought it took a significant dive in the 5th season. It was still a great series, but the plot of the fifth season was just shit.

I think that was kind of the point, it never ends.

And yes, Omar was one of the best characters on a TV show ever.

Hank Moody is also an awesome character (Californication).

Omar, Bunk, prop Joe, Carcetti, Royce, Bubs, Clay Davis, Daniels, McNulty, Carver, Bunny, Barksdale.... TONS of awesome characters

Probably the #1 on my list of all time HBO drama's

True, but I think it also has a lot to do with the director wanting 13 episodes and HBO saying they'd only get 10. Season 5 felt kind of rushed. Reading the character bio's Cheese was Randy's father!?! I would have never guessed it. Damn I need to wait a few months and watch it all again from the beginning to see what else I missed. As depressing as a lot of the show was, there were some hilarious moments between Herc & Carver, and Bunk had some funny ass moments too.

*SPOILER*

Was heart breaking at the end to see Dukie about to shoot up, and how his friend Mike dropped him off at the homeless camp knowing what would happen to him. Season 5 wasn't as good as the others, but I still thought it was great. The way Omar went was shocking, I was really rooting for him to get Marlo. I knew that it wouldn't happen, but I'd never guess he'd get done how he did.

Omar went out the way Omar went out. That's how shit happens, there's not always justice or revenge or fairness. Shit happens. We were all expecting a huge war because that's what we have always been given in tv but that's not the way it always happens in real life.

The Cheese Stands Alone. The music montage on the Final Episode really sets the tone for the whole series. I Loved It
