Wow,

The whole series was pretty good. The acting was great. However, through the series there was several things that was confusing to me. There were also clues early on in the series that described what was going to happen in the future.

1. The best part of the series was when Walter was working for Gus. Sure he was making less than he made when he had his whole operation later. But he had the protection from Gus, a whole lab to himself and he could kept doing this for life. He fucked up the whole thing when he hired Jessie as his assistant. I understand he did this to prevent Jessie from sueing Hank. It would have been a great idea. If Jessie sued hank than he would be demoted/fired and never involve himself in further investigating the case.

2. When Skyler retained an attorney for divorce, she had admitted to the attorney that her husband made/sold drugs. The attorney was very adamant that she should divorce him. At that particular point Walter had lots of money. If she divorced him, she would get lots of money/house etc.... She didn't follow the advice of the attorney, she ended up in Section 8 housing living a shit life!!!!!

3. Walter didn't do that good of a job in hiding his money. How do other people hid lots of money. The car-wash business didn't seem to be the business to launder the money either. Can you say "Swiss Bank Accounts".....

4. After Walter had Gale killed and hired Jessie back. Gus obviously didn't like that, but still had Walter working for him. He was still making batches of meth and kept trying to contact Gus. Gus kept his distance from Walter, it was almost like he was trying to hide from Walter.

5. Initially Gus hated Jessie, he had obvious distrust for Jessie and didn't agree with Hank hiring him. But later on, Gus seemed to take a liking to him, he took him to Mexico to take out the cartel there. He gave him more resp etc... Seems Walter would have been a better choice to go to Mexico.

There's a thread for that

1. You don't get it do you? The entire show was about a school teacher who had bitten off more that he could ever chew and as a results made a series of rash/bad decisions making everything very complicated. He loved everyone and didn't want anyone to get hurt.

2. It doesn't work that way, once police discovered that it was drug money, they would have taken it all away anyways irrespective of if she got it in divorce. He was a school teacher, every excess would have been tied to his drug business. That's why in the end he gives the money to the Blacks who had to ties to him.

3. Again, he was a school teacher, and his legal counsel was a traffic ticket attorney, he was way over his head.

4. Gus was temporally keeping them alive and working while he found another source.

5. Gus wanted to show Walter that he was replaceable, wanted to keep his ego in check and show him who is the boss.

You probably didnt watch the show that religiously, it seems you misunderstood the who show...

You realize that she wasn't going to be allowed to keep the money made from her husband's illegal drug trade, right? It's not "OK, you get half your husband's illegal money, and now we'll confiscate his share based on it being obtained through illegal means, but you keep that, it's all good..."

He didn't want to work for Gus, he wanted to create his own empire.

2. When Skyler retained an attorney for divorce, she had admitted to the attorney that her husband made/sold drugs. The attorney was very adamant that she should divorce him. As said above, the courts don't divide ill-gotten gains, it confiscates them.

3. Walter didn't do that good of a job in hiding his money. How do other people hid lots of money. The car-wash business didn't seem to be the business to launder the money either. Can you say "Swiss Bank Accounts".....
The car-wash business was a front for a small portion of the money, to help explain car purchases, etc. Most of the money was cash kept in the storage locker.

4. After Walter had Gale killed and hired Jessie back. Gus obviously didn't like that, but still had Walter working for him. He was still making batches of meth and kept trying to contact Gus. Gus kept his distance from Walter, it was almost like he was trying to hide from Walter.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Gus knew that Walter's product was going to take over, so you either have him work for you or destroy you.

He knew he could control Jesse but not Walter, and was hoping Jesse could reproduce the formula adequately enough to dispose of Walter for good.

Are you sure you were paying attention?

1. That's one way to look at it.

2. At that point in the show Walter was still under the radar. During a divorce, the courts stay out of the division of property until a decision can't be made by the couple. When you file for divorce you put down assets and show the division. Both sign. For the most part if there is a dispute the judge gets involved. If both parties agree on the division no one gives a shit about who owns what or where they got it from. The court case is about a divorce, not about "where did you get that car from"...

In addition Skyler's Attorney would try to "work it out" in a way so that her client get's the maximum from her husband w/o tripping off police. If Skyler's attorney exposed her husband's illegal activity it wouldn't benefit anybody!!!!

3. He wasn't a typical school teacher. I would say he was equivalent to Nobel Prize material. He had partnered and started a company based on his research/science. He just had a SHITTY personality. He's attorney was "good", in his situation. He needed a "criminal" attorney. No other attorney would have involved in his shit.

I'm half-way through season 2... Honestly, maybe it's due to the super-hype this series has received, but I just can not get THAT into it. Is it good? Yeah.... it's fine. But the accolades it has thrown at it I just can't understand.

I will finish it though.

This was one of the best TV shows ever. I didn't even start watching it until after it ended and my wife and I binge watched all 6 seasons in the span of a couple months. Really phenomenal television IMO. Absolutely loved it.

I'm getting hooked on Better Call Saul now too.

The thing is that it just keeps getting better and it builds right up to the final episode to the perfect ending. Stick with it, you won't be disappointed.

I was ready to stop watching half way into season 2 as well. I thought season 1 was good. 2 was pretty bad, but it starts to pick up a little into season 3 and stays going pretty strong through to the end.

3. ... Can you say "Swiss Bank Accounts".....

Go watch Wolf of Wall Street.

Walter didn't want a divorce at all and refused to sign the papers. Skyler's lawyer suggested turning him in to force the courts to decide, meaning no one gets any money.

He was good at science, bad at business. He didn't have an MBA.

A bank account stores money, not launders it. It was suggested that he open a chain of carwashes but he vetoed that. Were you even watching the show?

Go watch Wolf of Wall Street.

This, you would basically have to smuggle it out of the country to get it there. You couldn't possibly show up to a bank and wire a huge amount of money to another bank without someone asking questions about it.

I understand this.

As I see it you have two options
(1) Launder it
(2) Store it someplace where it can be accessed later.

It seems the show concentrated on (2). You could bury it, but in the U.S. that's very hard. Walter even made an effort by coding the GPS coordinates via a lottery ticket (nice idea). I would have went for (2), but using some offshore account.

In the future (when shit hits the fan) you can always leave an access the money.

How exactly would you plan on getting this money to said offshore account? Are you simply going to put it all in a boat and drive it down yourself? Because, that is pretty much the only way to do it secretly.

He just wants to do it because he heard about it in Brewster's Millions.
