Man, that book kicked serious ass! I swear I've never been so sucked into a book before. The hobbit was good, the fellowship wasnt bad, but damn, am I the only one that thinks ttt kicked both of those books asses around the corner? Havent read rotk yet, its sitting on my desk waiting, so dont any of you bastards spoil anything.

Half of FOTR was setting up the story, but man, TTT is going to be such a hollywood blockbuster. Cant wait to see it.

I thought TTT was the best of the 3. The Voice of Saruman chapter was great, and I really liked the Gollum/Frodo/Sam thing.

I was expecting more from the ending of ROTK, though. It was a bit anti-climactic.

I am 100 pages into ROTK. I thought that TTT was probably better than fellowship. I think it will make a better movie. The combat in it and the major assault on helm's deep should look absolutely spectacular. I really think that it will be a better movie than fellowship. How you can improve on near perfection I do not know...

The way Tolkien broke up the different parties' accounts made him able to fit in a whole *whole* lot of story into it. There's so much going all the time. There really aren't any dull parts in the whole book. I was kind of disappointed in the FOTR movie, but TTT should be better. Before you flame me for not liking the move, I don't think it could have been done much better by anyone, but Fellowship just doesn't lend itself well to film, in my opinion.
