Last night I got my new system built. I haven't had a new one or any upgrades in 4 years!!!.. so I was a little overdue.

Tbird 1.4
ASUS A7M266 mobo
512mb crucial
Gainward GeForce3
80gb WD hd
Lite-On 24x burner
Pioneer dvd
Hercules Gaming Theater XP sound card
Klipsch 4.1 speakers
Nokia 21" monitor

I just want to thank everyone who helped me in selcting my parts. I wasn't keeping up-to-date with the latest good hardware out so I was pretty lost. Thanks everyone. I know I should have waited 1-2 months for all these cool new htings coming out.. but I just couldnt hold out, haha.

Ok now commenting on my hardware. The tbird is FAST. highly recommend it!! Also.. the ARCTIC SILVER II stuff is awesome!!!! I first had that stupid pink stuff on, and was getting like 52 celsius... I used the arctic silver 2, and was getting 39!! The video card is tiiiight. The speakers BLOW MY MIND.. they are so loud and clear. Lastly, I have to turn my head to look at different parts of the monitor screen. It's so big and clear!! So I recommend this hadware to anyone out there who is thinking about upgrading soon.

Ok I Cant wait to get out of work to go back home and play a little more Soldier of Fortune, hehe. peace!!!

Very nice! well done

Got a few questions for you, if you don't mind me asking.

How much did the 21" monitor cost you?

Whats your bootup time like?

I'm thinking of upgrading in a few months so I'm kinda doing a little survey

Congrats and welcome to the world of Extreme Gaming. Bigger! Better! Faster! Louder! More! Repeat until beaten into submission! I have a 19" flat-screen monitor, a GF3 and the Klipsch PM 4.1's. Gaming at 1/3 volume is louder than heck and gaming at around 1/2 volume is a religious experience. The PM's are so damn clear at high volumes. Yes, you do need to tweak the sub level every time you switch games or go from game to music, but who cares, right? It's like having a supermodel for a girlfriend; high maintenance, but the benefits are awesome!

Congrats on your ENTIRE new system; you picked out some awesome parts there, buddy! Thumbs up!

The 21" monitor cost me $386!!! Dell was having a special 10% off deal and free shipping... and on top of that I found a coupon for another 15% off.. so total w/ shipping and tax, $386 🙂

I am runing Win2K and boot up time is AWESOME. I go from no power to being on instant messenger in less than 30 seconds.

Thanks for the good words MichaelD! Yea those Klipsch 4.1's dominate! I actualy turned them up to full blast for a few seconds before I couldnt take it any longer and had to lower the volume to 1/3. The sub woofer has my chair shaking. Music and games sound great on these.
