i finished building my pc and now i have to install windows, i had a problem w/ my win xp disk (it wouldnt boot i think because i didnt have a real copy of win xp it was just a burned copy) so now i wanted to try this Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Trial Edition for 180 days for free. will this work or do i have to buy a full edition windows os first???

A burned copy will work, as long as it is 'boot enabled'.
I can't see why the trial edition wouldn't work. What are you waiting for?????

If your machine is an AMD64 machine, it should work. Make sure you set the optical drive to boot before the hard drive.

if you can get onto another computer, put the cd in, and create 4 bootdisks. these are floppy disks that allow you to boot if the cd wont boot. comes in handy for me a lot. i wouldnt go for x64. its just a hassle with drivers and other problems.
