Just finished building my new rig. What is the order of installing drivers after OS?

I installed Win 7 SP1 and now am running Windows update. What drivers go next and in which order? Do you install chipset drivers? Also do you use the drivers utility CD or download drivers from the web? My build is the following :

i7-4790K
Asus Z97-K
16GB Corsair 1866RAM
Samsung 840 Pro 128 GB

Thanks in advance

Chipset, video, audio (if needed), network (if needed) is all I do. I get the latest from the web rather than from the CD.

I usually do motherboard drivers from the website first. Then do other stuff (GPU, sound card, etc.) in no particular order.

WRT motherboards/chipsets, I generally only install drivers for the stuff that Windows doesn't have generic drivers for. Just anecdotal, but they seem to work better most of the time.

LAN/NIC happens before everything else, so I can do updates easier.

I do the chipset drivers first (downloaded from mobo website), then the video card. Printer is last. Drivers for the keyboard and mouse if needed for the extra features.

There's not really anything like a "chipset" driver anymore, not in the sense that people are remembering from the past. All of the generic northbridge drivers are built into the OS, and the Intel INF update only changes the names in the device manager to the officially approved Intel(TM) names.

Generally the order that you install drivers in does not matter these days. If the NIC is not working, then you need to install those first so that you can go online to download the other drivers. Otherwise, I usually install the GPU drivers first simply because working at native resolution is more pleasant than working at a lower resolution. Then I'll install the audio drivers if the Windows built-in drivers aren't working for any reason. Then look through the Device Manager for yellow exclamation marks and grab the drivers for those devices.
