I was over at my neighbor's house trying to install SBC Yahoo service for them. Now they are running Windows 98 1st edition but I have checked the minium requirement and we have met everything except the resolution which is 800x600 with 16bit and he is running like one level below that (I forgot the resolution) with 256 colors. Anyways I changed his resolution to 800x600 running 32bit colors. Poped the CD in and the installation hangs just the installation everything else seems to be running. I was able to alt+ctrl+del.
To make the story short.. I called SBC Tech support want to know what I can about it. So I got this tech named Julio and I explained what I have done to the computer (changing the resolution and colot bits) so this is what he told me.. go to display properties and change the color bit to 16bit because I am not meeting the minium requirement
. I didn't want to correct him so I did what he said.. and then he told put the SBC CD in and the plug and play should start running
Again I didn't want to correct him. Then a window show up saying some of the system file does not meet the minium requirement that's where it hangs. While I am trying to read what it says on the window he keep telling me that's not the window I should be seeing or reading from. So I asked him what window should I see.. he told me a window that will tell you what hardware is not meeting the min requirement. After I explained to him several times that the window I am looking at is not what he sees infront of his screen and that I have already double check the min. requirement.. he start saying I am not being cooperative and I should just take the computer to a store and have them fix. I just told him.. forget it.. gimme my case ID and I want to talk to the manager. So he put me on hold for like 20 minutes probably think that I will hang up then a manager picked up and aplogize for his attitude. Since I was over at my neighbor's place I didn't wanna to yell at the place.. I just got her name and said that I will try to reinstall windows and see what will happen.
anyone know what can I do to report to SBC about this customer service? should I complain? or just f*ck it??
