just experienced mysterious shutdown/reboot

[i will post that also in software....i was not sure if the h/w forum is appropriate...but on the other hand it might be h/w related....]

i have XP SP1, Norton Antivirus etc. and my PC is running fine for over a year now ! I dont have any virii i am aware off !

I log on today, go online..play a video with WinDVD5.

All of a sudden a requester pops up:

"The system will shut down in 60 seconds"

Eventlog says:

SOURCE USER32: EventID 1074
The process winlogon.exe has initiated the restart of RAVEN for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Minor Reason: 0xff
Shutdown Type: reboot
Comment: Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly

The bizarre thing is that none of such things EVER happened on my machine before !!!!!!!!!!!!

Need help what's going on....

I got a similar popup, but it was for 5 minutes. All the computers at Indiana Universities campus do it around 5 AM. Thats all the info I have, but it may not be completely unrelated. Check the admin and networking settings.

sorry that may not help much.... but its all i got

yes, but it happened at home :) I didnt change any settings...i guess it was some rare s/w related error which, for some reason, caused XP to shut down...
