I donated blood for the sake of testing earlier this semester for a friend's sister in law--she needs a bone marrow transplant. A lot of people on campus came out for the cause, however it didn't seem like there were enough (never seems like there's enough). I'm sure every little bit helps though =D

Donating blood IS something to be proud of, haha--nice ;)

Last time I donated they messed up :p The lady comes back and goes.. hmm you're taking a long time to fill it up.. and leaves.. comes back and my bag is almost filled.. since it took so long they took it off.. i had a huge bruise... was woozy and lightheaded... the next day I can't bend my arm. I had a bruise from the top of my bicep to about 3/4 the way down my forearm. What happend was when she first put the needle in, nothing came out, so she pulled it out and put it back in.. nothing again.. so pulled it out put it in.. nothing.. slowly pulled it out ... and then blood started flowing into the bag. What she did was punch though my veins three times.. so the blood was leaking and hence the huge bruise

i wish my new job would do this. at UCLA they would ALWAYS have blood drives for the employees (hey man, i got four hours of paid time off each time, plus the cookies!) so i would donate each time.

thanks for this! you make me happy because someone has worse experience than mine. I was scared that they may pull it out and put it back because it was too slow. I felt pissed because the other guy that almost started the same time with me was finished and gone while I was still in the middle of it :|
usually, i would beat the crap out of everyone.

I gave blood for two reasons. Paid time off work, and to win a bet. I bet my friend I could bleed faster. I win bleeding faster, but my friend gets last laugh. We find out a month later he has AB+ blood.

So you take pictures of it? Sounds like bragging.

I donate platelets which requires about an hour and half and I have a needle in each arm. I am approaching the four gallon mark on that. Well most of that is platelets but some whole blood in there too; they like my platetlets more due to some antigen I have, or don't have, or something like that.

My veins almost makes me look like I am a junkie due to the scaring.

AB+ means he can receive anyone's blood right?

I'm O+
