Hey at least they aren't all evil black guns...just trying to share the preservation of history.
These are all CMP M1s, no Blue Sky/Century/etc. The top one is the only one I have refinished. The other 4 require attention (especially the one with the tape all over it...). Just too much going on right now to refinish them. Working on a K98 ATM.
From top to bottom:
Springfield Armory Dane w/ VAR barrel. Receiver puts in being made in August of 1942. Other parts are a mix of SA and Beretta except for bolt, some other Italian make that escapes me at the moment. The inside of the stock had the sight adjustments on it from when the Danes were doing field tests with it. Lock-bar Type II battle sights.
Harrington Richardson Arms. Likely original HRA barrel, dated 53 receiver and 53 barrel a couple of months behind. A couple of other HRA parts, but most are SA. Beautiful stock, hasn't even been cleaned yet.
Winchester Repeating Arms. SA barrel in the mid 50s, receiver date in the late 40s. Almost all parts are SA.
Winchester Repeating Arms. Undated (without detail stripping) Winchester barrel. I would guess original as it swallows an M2 bullet, pretty worn. Receiver is dated early 50s. Trigger group is a mix of International Harvester and SA parts. Rest is SA. Has a lot of packaging stuck to it (the yellow stuff). Usually arsenal wrap comes off pretty easily, but this is on pretty good. Garands weren't stored in wrap anyway, so not sure exactly is the deal with this one.
Winchester Repeating Arms. SA barrel dated in the mid 50s. Receiver is dated early 50s. Parts are all SA from what I looked at. Really beautiful stock. It's going to clean up real nice. Small gouge on the right side near the grip, but I'll live with it.

Here's what the first Dane VAR looks like after cleaning the cosmo:

I will trade off one of the Winchesters at some point for an International Harvester, as that's the only one I don't have. Really want one from all 4 makers, but the CMP doesn't take orders for Winchester or IHC anymore
I may send the Dane off to Deans for a dark repark and that new bistonge (sp?) wood set. It's the best shooter of the bunch. May just leave them all original. This is how they were pulled for Army use, so no need to mess with a good thing.
Still building the accessory collection. G/L, correct cleaning kits, etc.
