they are workstations and they don't need soundcards because they are for engineers. I just thought it was weird.

Can you post specs of the system?

I agree though, soundcars on work systems is generally asking for trouble. There are two dumbfvcks in my office who are constantly streaming radio and sh1t despite the fact that I've told them it impacts bandwith...

Our new CAD boxes from Dell have roughly the same specs and they don't have sound cards either.

It really sucks because a lot of the designers used headphones while they are working.

Bandwidth limitation down to 3KB/s or so usually aids in their understanding.

I bring mine all the time, I don't really worry because I'm either carrying it on me or listening to it.

Um, he meant CAD $5,000 = Canadian $5,000, not CAD as in architecture/engineering apps.
