Just did a mini road-trip

I work for a small start-up company and I've got a week in between contracts so my boss asked me on Friday if I wouldn't mind taking a few days of vacation this week. So without any real time to plan I decided to take a little road-trip by myself. I didn't really have an itinerary, but here is what I ended up doing

Day 1:
Leave Denver
Off road in Buena Vista, CO
Great Sand Dunes in Mosca, CO
Zapata Falls, CO
Pagosa Springs, CO
Sleep in Durango, CO

Day 2:
Leave Durango
Off road in Moab, UT
Hike Canyonlands, UT
Sleep in Glennwood Springs, CO

Day 3:
Leave Glennwood
Hike Hanging Lake, CO
Drive Independence Pass in Aspen, CO
Drink in an old ass Saloon in Leadville, CO
Get back to Denver

Pictures (Best viewed with some Tom Petty playing in the background 😉)

Awesome, I have yet to go on a non-family road trip but its high up on my list of things to do.

Edit: Just finished the pictures and they are excellent. It would have sucked to get stuck by yourself lol.

After seeing what you were driving...no you did not hit up BV Carnage 😛

I'm not sure how you got that much Rocky Mountain Pinstriping though. You can't really see anything on my truck and I've taken it through some tight places.

Curious what trails you did hit up? BV is awesome....some nice trails there.

In Broomfield for a few weeks.

Ahh. Have a friend that lives there. Not too bad a place.

Wow, after seeing those pics I feel compelled to do a 2 week trip from up here (the frozen tundra) to see that part of the continent. I'm gonna save up some vacation time and do that next October.

I drove across the country a couple summers ago. Despite what they say, overcrowding is NOT a problem 😀 Great pics, thanks for sharing!
