My system started acting up, hanging all of a sudden, and I figured I either have a Hard Drive issue, or just needed a fresh install.

Here is what I have:
AMD64 3200+
ASUS K8V Deluxe (Not SE)
1 GB Corsair 3200 ProLL
80 GB Seagate SATA (Priimary)
80 GB WD Sata (Backup)
Asus 9800 XT

So....I go to do a fresh install, and figuring it may be my primary hard drive, I try to install on my WD. Well the system won't go through the boot process. I get some BIOS do not load message, and it tells me to press "Q". BTW, I am using the VIA sata controller, not the promise, to run the HD's. I switch the seagate back into the primary slot and attempt a format and install. Well it goes through just fine. I get it up and running, nothing is hanging anymore, and all is well. So I shut it down and hook the WD back up to SATA 2 slot, and we are off to purgatory again. I get the BIOS do not load meesage and to hit "Q" again. Well I unplug iut and I'm working again.

From the limited info I have provided, does it sound like I have a controller or a HD issue?

Now to problem number two. I installed teh VIA 4 in 1 drives from the disc provided with themotherboard, the NIC Card drivers, and various raid drivers and such. When I attempted to install my sound card drivers it said that it couldn't find a sound card installed. I checked the hardware manager and it list an unidentified sound controller, and unidentified PCI hardware. Could it be possible that Im missing a driver that controls my PCI bus, or should that have been in the4 in 1 driver? Is anyone familiar with this MB and has done an install on it before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe try WD's HD diag proggie. I think it's Data Lifeguard, or something similar.

I don't have a 64bit mobo. But on my mobo with a Via chipset, the 4 in 1's were all that was neccessary. Can you look in Device Mgr to see the driver installed (or not) for the PCI bus?
