What the hell?

They used to treat my son so well....I even recommended them to hundreds of families when I volunteered with the JDRF. Now they treat us like an inconvenience. Ever since his old doctor left, things just aren't the same. The nurse actually yelled at me for not calling her back over something dumb.

I can't wait to see how things go with all the new changes coming in health care....

At least for now you can change doctors. Unless you live in bumfuck, WV there should be more than one pediatrician in town.

my wife and i went through a few doctors before we found a good pediatrician

first one was too far away
second one sucked
third was ok, but the wait was like 2 hours. and she needlessly scared my wife
fourth is awesome

Our family doctor is great. Very friendly, always takes time to chat and is great at explaining any medical condition or test in detail.

Only problem is that I think he is getting ready to retire as last time I was in to see him, he mentioned that they have moved all their medical records onto computers as that is the only way the practice will have any value when it is time to sell to another doctor.

Maybe you recommended them to too many people and they're too busy with new patients these days. Sorry to hear about this. You need a good MD.

what did the doctor do?

It's actually his diabetes team. He has a social worker, dietician, educator and endo. They used to all rock. Now they treat you like a bother, never return calls and forget about a smile. Today the educator literally yelled at me because I didn't call her back. Well I as at work, his mom called her. She kept being a bitch, so I cussed her out.

This is after they sent me to voicemail three times last month when his insulin rx ran out.

Just sucks when you get used to good service and then get below average service. I don't feel bad either. Hopefully enough people do it that they change their ways.

When my prescriptions expire, my doctor's office won't even deal with me. I'm supposed to call the pharmacy, and they get the renewal from the office in 1-3 business days.

*shrug*

Everybody's different, I guess.

My family doc is great, and has been for over 35 yrs. His staff, however, are poor communicators and I suspect are paid as little as possible. When he retires, I'm not sure who I'll see. Family practice is a branch of medicine that is slowly fading away.

then you go to the doctor

my pediatrician won't prescribe antibiotics unless he is 100% sure it's the right thing. one time my son had 104 fever for a few days and no prescription
