Why don't more people sell their plasma rather than donate their blood? Or do they? Inquiring mind is curious . . .

(not that donating is a bad thing)
 
I have a friend who has sold his plasma a few times and apparently it is much more painful and takes a lot longer. He has since stopped and said it's not worth it.
