I'm kinda glad because I just bought my mac. However, I was hoping for an updated macbook as I want to get my wife a macbook in the next few weeks.

I have 2
A 700mhz Emac
and
A 500mhz G4 Powermac.

Both are being sold so that in the Future I can get a Macbook Pro of some sort.

2.4Ghz 17" MacBook Pro

I also have an old 800Mhz 17" iMac G4 (lampshade style) that my mom and dad use for email and general intarweb stuff.

I'm curious.. does the 17" MBP run super hot on the bottom? My 15" Santa Rosa gets almost burn your skin off hot when I'm working with it on my lap, and even when it's on my desk.

It does, but not all the time. Mostly on cpu intensive tasks, like running a game.

If you're going to actually have this thing in your lap, I'd suggest getting some kind of lap holder thing for it.

Thanks.. I think I'm going to hold off until January, though. I want the bigger screen, but I think it'll be more worthwhile if they actually do a body refresh with the Nehalem architecture.
