Just curious: What is the difference/s between the "General Hardware" forum and the "Peripherals" forum?

Im just curious. There are a lot of common posts (common in topic, like soundcards for example) between those two forums. If i'm not mistaken, isn't the basic concept of "Peripherals" hardware which are attached externally to the PC (ie, monitor, speakers, printers, etc)?

That's what i've always thought of it to be, but many members don't always post in the appropriate forum.

The main difference is that General Hardware has 8000 posts and Peripherals has 400 posts. Far fewer people go to Peripherals. So it takes about 20 times longer to get a response in the Peripherals forum.
