-12C and windchill of -23C

It's supposed to snow a lot today.

2:05 AM EST Monday 10 January 2022
Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County

Snow squalls likely this evening through Tuesday morning.

Hazards:
Lake effect snow, with snowfall rates of 15 to 20 cm over 12 hours possible.
Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Snow covered and icy roads.

When:
This evening into Tuesday morning.

Discussion:
Snow squalls over Lake Huron are expected to migrate south into the region this evening. These snow squalls are expected to taper off Tuesday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Fun. Probably the same system we had the other day.
I just got back from walking to my pharmacy to pick up some meds. It's f'n cold out. That wind is relentless.

It also figures that when I walked out of there that is when the snow squalls decide to hit. It's just nasty outside right now.

Baby it's cold outside.

-33 feels like -42.

Glad that I'm working from home for next little while. Saves me from dealing with that in the morning. Scraping windshield etc.

Yeah, -23C with wind chill in the morning - no thanks. Now up to -11/-16 w/wind. I freaking hate wind in the winter. -11 is fine, add some wind and I'm not a happy camper.

Tonight we're looking at lows between 5-10f.

Saturday, high of 16F (-9C)
Saturday Night, low of 4F (-15C)

Windy enough for wind chills in the negative, then it sorta warms up again...

Sunday, high of 28F (-2C)
Sunday Night, new snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches (15 to 25cm) possible.
Monday, new snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10cm) possible.

-39 with the windchill. Suppose to drop to -45 later tonight.

Some snow coming at some point too I think. I'm on a long stretch of WFH so at least it saves me from dealing with that in the morning.

I'm not sure that bed could take the strain! :p

Our nearly 50 lb labradoodle puppy takes up nearly half the bed...but the "little" shithead won't stay in one spot...and all too often, ends up pushing my wife out of bed.
When he has an exceptionally restless night, he gets out in his crate so everyone can get some sleep.

Weather here was nice today. Low-50's and sunshine. No rain expected until maybe Tuesday.
