The cold front came through and the windchill is -18C. We are getting snowsqualls off and on.

What a miserable day.

It is a good day for comfort food.

Supposed to be warmish (over 50f) and sunny for a couple of days. Then...more rain. Normal for here.

Seemed like it snowed most of the day but when i left work my car was completely clear of snow. Scraped off some remaining ice while it warmed up. Drove thru a couple bad squalls on the way home. I guess so far the snow is getting blown somewhere else.
2 1/2 more days of this though, so it'll ad up. Just in time for 50F & rain early next week :(

Got done with a stretch of a few days of warm and wet weather. Now it's cold, VERY windy and dry. This should last until Monday when it reverts to unseasonably warm and lots of rain. That's been winter in my area. Almost all the cold weather has been dry and all the precipitation has been coming up from the south with warm air. Getting lots more precipitation than normal, but much much less snow.

FFS it's suppose to get hot again in next few days. I hate this up and down weather. I'm sick as hell and don't feel like shoveling this snow now and was going to wait but I will have to do it before it gets hot or it will get too heavy and crusty.

The storm is still going so going to wait till tomorrow.

We received another 3 inches of snow today. And that wind! That is just brutal. Supposed to warm up here on Sunday and then rain Monday or Tuesday.

I have had enough of winter.

If I lived in an area that got lake effect snow I'd shoot myself. Some towns in upstate New York are approaching and might surpass 4 FEET from this current "storm".

back in 2010 we received over 3 feet of lake effect snow. It shut our city down for the second time. The first was the blizzard of 1971.

3 feet is horrible, we had 3 feet of normal snow about 5 years ago which set a record for snowfall in my area. There's nowhere to put it after a while, when you need to shovel the mounds are over your head. And that's not all that bad compared to what's possible. Some areas of the Upper Peninsula in Michigan can get 6-8 feet of lake effect snow in a single event and 25+ feet in a winter. HTF can a town cope with 25 feet of snow? Hell, how do you get out of your house to start digging out from 6-8 feet of snow? Climb out an upstairs window maybe, your doors probably won't open.

It got crazy about seven years back. We had >2' of snow in one day, and I shoveled my entire driveway myself - took me eight hours with a short break for lunch.

Because my home is down from the street, I tend to get a good amount of snow drifts, so it was well over 3' in some areas (pretty much my whole driveway).

I forget whether it was that year or the year after, but we had a crazy amount of snow over the course of couple of weeks and the pile by the mailbox was >6' high.

Needless to say, I bought a snowblower the year after.

Ended up losing about half of the parking area of my driveway, but eh...
