84 degrees in Dubai today. A little chilly this morning in the desert, but warm and sunny now.

Going to rain all day, probably an inch or more from that single storm that has swept across the entire country. Blissfully warm though, so it's going to stay rain. This time of the year getting a giant storm like that passing through it's often a foot of snow instead.

Rained like mad last night. Just a bit of drizzle this morning. We've had somewhere around 5" of rain in the past week. The "highway to civilization" is closed due to yet another mudslide...only about 2 weeks after the last one. Fortunately, there's a detour around it that isn't too inconvenient.

Just did my usual spring maintenance on my riding mower yesterday--changed oil and filter, air filter, both blades and spark plug. Usually do it end of Feb or early Mar. But gotta cut grass this week and figured why wait for the spring maint. when it's darned near spring around here (NE GA). Seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year now. And because the temps aren't getting below freezing, damned weeds/clover is overtaking yard since the grass is dormant.

I figure a year or two and I'll be mowing year round.

Chilly today...highs in the mid-40's...with more rain incoming. The talking heads on the Seattle stations are predicting around 4" before this "atmospheric river" storm is done. Youse folks east of me...who live in snowy areas should expect a bit more of the nasty white stuff...

Too hot for this time of year, but at least it's not hot enough to rain. We did get a bit of freezing rain but could have been worse. Been way too hot of a winter though. I hate seeing this knowing it's only going to be worse in the future. Pretty soon our winters will be like what they get in BC. Just wet and gloomy and no snow.

That said it's nice to see a bit of light past 5 now. Days are slowly getting longer.

Going to get hammered by another big storm this weekend. Actually, it started today and will run into late Friday or early Saturday. And thanks to the same fluky weather pattern that keeps forming these big storms with lots of moisture, it's shooting up from the Gulf of Mexico and bringing warm air with it. Instead of this being snow measuring in multiple feet it's going to be 3+ inches of rain. For early February, that's a good thing, a little flooding is better than a LOT of shoveling.

Cloudy, gloomy and damp but at least not too cold at about 40f.

Have a winter weather advisory in effect till 6a Thurs but really doubt anything frozen will accumulate along the shore where I am at least.

27F in Tucson. Fortunately, our house was in the strongest thermal layer I've seen here. It was 32F at home, dropped to 20F a couple miles and only 200 feet lower. Rose back to 27F at the office which is seven hundred feet lower than the house.

Much of western Washington state is underwater. Rivers are flooding all over the region. Some areas have had more than 35" of rain since Jan.1. We had to drive to a town south of Aberdeen today...Highway 101 was down to 1 lane in a couple of places either because the road was gone...or because it was about to go.
