They made a big fuss about possibly up to 6-8 inches of snow. It came down for a while the other night, but I'm not sure I have more than 3 or 4 inches at most. With the wind, some place don't have more than an inch while other drifted to maybe 5 inches.

Finally getting a small break from the cold. Suppose to warm up some more for the weekend too.

Only -13 feels like -18. The wind died down a lot so that makes a huge difference.

Warming up, was -5 earlier today!

it's nice to see the days starting to get longer, there was actually light out at 7am when I was leaving work this morning, and there's light out past 5pm now too.

Looks like we have an "atmospheric river" headed this way. Rain, rain, rain...and warmer temps for the next week.

Can you tell where the water was when the freeze hit this week?

Hard to tell scale in a picture, but that's about three feet, maybe four.

As the water started to recede, it sounded like sheets of breaking glass as mass sections of ice fell away.

The winter snowpack in the mountains is running 0 - 12% of median for the time of year. The winter snow and rain has failed completely. We’re in for a long, hot summer.

We have had a melty weekend. My driveway is almost ice free.

It wasn't too cold yesterday. And suddenly, the temperature dropped and I feel like a frickin' popsicle because I wasn't dressed for this weather. The back of my neck feels weird due to the smacking it got from the cold wind. Somewhat numb.

Been very warm. Hard to complain, as much as I hate the mess it creates, since it is a break from the extreme cold.

Snow plow went by and the snow bank was all ice, so took me a good hour or so to chip through it. Glad I was scheduled to work from home today since it would have been quite the scramble trying to get out of the driveway this morning if I had to be in the office. I think I would have just drove through it. I hate doing that though since it packs down and it's even harder to clear after.

Going ice fishing in a few days though, so the nice weather will be welcome for that.

It's absolutely been a gorgeous week of our first fake spring weather here in the New York City area. Been very mild all week, low to mid-50s during the day and only down to low 40s at night. So it'll get cold again and we have to have at least another fake spring, and then possibly a third fake spring.

If you're in the south you should pay attention to the weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. They are already predicting a severe weather outbreak this far out.

We're behind on our annual rain/snowfall amounts here. Not quite that far behind...but still...

-16 feels like -26 and basically a blizzard out there. I went ice fishing yesterday, this storm was just getting started but it was like -5 at least so it was not too bad but the wind was bad on and off. Glad I was out yesterday and not today though.
