Just curious, how can you change what right click, edit launches for pictures?

OS: Window XP

Problem: Ex. a jpg file, I want the default open (doubleclick) to stay the picture and fax viewer, but I want rightclick, edit to open photoshop instead of paint.

I know I can right click, open with, photoshop, but that's an extra click that I don't want.

I don't use WinXP, but with Win2000 you would start Windows Explorer, then click Tools > Folder Options and go to the File Types tab.

Next, scoot down to the JPG file type, click the Advanced button, then select "Edit" in the Actions window where the options are shown, and click the Edit button. Now browse to the proggie you want it to use for editing.

Alternately, you can add a new listing ("Edit with Photoshop") and aim it at Photoshop. HTH :)

Here's a quick method for future file association needs:

1. Hold down shift and Right-Click the Control Panel MSI file
2. Click "Open With"
3. Click Browse...
4. Go to your windows system32 folder (usually C:\Windows\system32\ or C:\Winnt\system32\) and find the file "msiexec.exe" and double click on it
5. Check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" check box.
6. Click OK

Cheers

Thanks, once I did it again, I remembered doing it back in Win98
