Just curious, but how well if at all would everquest 2 run on Intel integrated graphics?

I have a laptop with the new intel extreme 2 integrated graphics. Its directx9 and has more then 64MB of memory, so it passes the everquest minimum requirments, as do the rest of the laptops specs. But I am guessing it probablly still won't run very good if at all.

You can get it to run with ok FPS, if you set it to its lowest setting in the game, but it will have worse graphics than duke nukem 3d.

<-- has tried it.

At lowest settings, many games are playable (if calling 640x480 is playable, that is).

I remember once installing the Doom 3 demo in a PC I had at work (A Dell P4 3.0GHz with a gig of RAM, actually a decent machine but with 64mb Intel Extreme Graphics). It actually ran at about 20ish FPS with everything at lowest...of course it looked like a N64 game, but it did run.

I guess that as long they have at least 64MBs of RAM and DirectX8.0 suppor or higher they will run pretty much everything.

It will run, you meet the minimum specs. You probably won't enjoy the game very much on that system though, you'll be running on the lowest settings and still probably get major slowdowns in city areas. ;(

Does anyone remember IDF review from Xbitlabs?? I remember a screenshot which showed Intel running World of Warcraft on Intel Sonoma platform. It was running on the GMA900 graphics on the laptop. It was slightly sluggish, but it ran fine, it looked like it was running 800x600 medium with around 25-30 frames per second. Of course EQ2 is more demanding.

BTW, its called Intel GMA900 graphics not extreme graphics, the extreme graphics are even older ones the GMA's are the latest integrated.

You can adjust your graphics setting in BIOS(you SHOULD be able to). I recommend setting it as 128MB DVMT.
