Just couldn't help myself - e85 this time

Just got the car back after doing a pulley swap and e85 senor upgrade. Not a bad pickup for $300 in parts plus a tune.

After running the 1/2 mile event in May, I wanted more out of the car. Got a couple updated photos today and expect the car to be ready by next Wednesday.

Here's a preview:

Will update next week when it's ready.

Got the car back today. We started off on the safe side until I break the engine in a little more. Next steps are a pulley and ~14psi of boost after the next race.

I would like to assess how an owner of such car partakes in such approaches:

As a new C7 member who tracks their car, do you take your time to see what builds are out there for the new motor? Do you ever hit that spending limit of, "I should have got a C6 Z06 then buy more track parts, or got the C7 Z06?"

I guess it all comes down to ownership style/preference. Either way its cool and makes every situation unique.

Was out all weekend, but basically doing a 416 w/forged pistons, heads, cam w/32% fuel lobe, LS7 lash cap, LT4 fuel pump/injectors, Alkycontrol meth injection. This in addition to the ECS supercharger, AR headers and MGW shifter. Also have a set of Weld S77B rims and MT ET Street Radial II 305/35/18 that are due in shortly.

The hole above the timing assembly in the block is from the casting. If you look at the other pictures of the LT1, you will see a similar hole.

About the reasoning for going this route as opposed to a Z06. Simply, I got a fully loaded Z51 3LT model built for $63k last year. I didn't know how the Z06 would stack up, perform or be priced and didn't want to wait 2+ years for it to go on employee pricing. GM has also raised the price numerous times where the cars are $5k+ over the original sticker in '14. Top that off, I would be modding the LT4 regardless so not sure how far ahead it would really get me.

Thanks, that fills in some gaps. the poster above found the blower, and I was thinking it made sense. As it sits it was a VERY low compression build 😛

The blower was fun for the first couple months, but 595rwhp feels slow after awhile 😀

Haven't had a good spot to really get on it yet. The shop that did the work is hosting a track event this weekend so I may try to get a couple 1/4 mile runs in.

Bah. You just have to know how to play the game 😀

Plus, no more tailpipe tests so things just got a ton easier in a sense.
