OMFG It looks so GOOD! I really want to cry! 🙁 The problem is, media player classic is horribly optimized and plays the content at extremely low FPS. I can only get about 15FPS with a system that has a 3.5GHZ processor! Any ideas on how to make HD content run smoothly on my system? Anybody use media player classic?
Plays fine using WMP10 on my Dell 700m.

I refuse to use WMP10, especially the EULA you have to agree to with WMP9 which is transferred to 10, ugh.
I had a feeling you were one of those people.

And I bet you're one of those people who will probably willingly buy Windows Vista, get an HDCP monitor, bend over and let the media companies ram you up the ass.
Yeah, try to blame it on Microsoft.

2GB of ram system requirement for decent speed? Why shouldn't I blame MS? MS doesn't have to have this HDCP bull sh!t nor any of the DRM crap. Let the media companies decide what to do....
I don't know what this has to do with anything...seems you're just babbling again. Guess I'll go along with it for a little while more since I'm killing time and you're so ill-informed.
Anyways, the current recommended memory configuration for Vista is 1GB. The media companies have already made a decision and their decision is that you aren't going to be watching their future HD content at full resolution on a computer without compliant hardware and software. This goes for all operating systems, MS is working on a new OS at the moment and is laying the foundation for these requirements. Yes, it sucks, but it's not MS's fault. The same will go for Linux (not sure how the licensing would work though), OSX, whatever.

Oh, so I guess 1GB of ram is now considered reasonable

I love helpful threads like this, wish we had more.

Kudo's to the OP 🙂

. If anyone has any questions about the process, feel free to ask here or PM me (or even AIM)...I'd be glad to help out. And, if you're interested in sample videos (BTW, can someone tell me what their transfer speed is for the Shrek video a few posts up?), I've got Garden State, United States of Leland, Shrek 2, and Indepedence Day. Expect new content everyday 😉.
