The trailer looks awesome, which of course makes me suspicious. And after reading and watching reviews around the web, it looks a little too awesome for someone like me. I like solid gameplay.

BUT, at 50 % off I may be tempted to experiment anyway.

Great game, and the first game in a long while to re-kindle my love for just messing around a sandbox world doing random stuff, watching random things, climbing random buildings, shooting random jaywalkers. And then there's the amazing graphics. The water effects were just bonkers.

It has an intentionally awful story and plot, though. We're talking horrific, over-the-top voice acting and it was all done purposely. Unfortunately for me, I find that style to be instantly boring and tedious, so I paid zero attention to the plot and very quickly stopped doing any missions at all and instead focused on randomness and exploration.

Good game though, at 50% it's a no-brainer.

Of course, I wont be downloading the demo cuz Starcraft 2 just ate up 60 dollars and 20 hours.
By the time I get done Just Cause 2 should be a bargain bin title.

Buy it you fools :p

There has never been a game made, easier to play for 100 hours......I get side tracked so easy in this game......

The Fun factor and the physics are off the hook.

How's the game's performance on mid-range hardware?

I've got a E8400 @ 3.9 with a highly overclocked 4890. Similar to Whirlwind's setup but I'm only running a single card.

It ran great on my 2.9ghz 5600+ Dualie and 9800gtx+. I'm sure you could pretty much max it out at 1920x1080.

It will run fine.

If you like blowing shit up, you will enjoy the game.

Bought it despite never having tried the demo. I've gotten stuck or abandoned several games recently and having a big sandbox is just what I need.

Btw, the only DLC worth buying is the one with the rocket thrusters.

Then, just pick and choose if you want something else.

Well, I considered it, but it doesn't support XP. Ah well!

Then I wont be getting it either. My gaming rig is still XP Pro. Too many games.
Oh well, Starcraft 2 is any indication I dont need a new OS on my gaming system just yet.

If I save my game with thrusters and load it, they are gone...

I don't really find them that worth it. they only give a very short burst and I rarely use the parachute anyway.

I saw on the Steam forums there is a mod that gives your the DLC thrusters all the time without having to buy/rebuy them from the black market.

I'm going to buy the game, and for $5 more I can get the Prima Strategy Guide as a package deal. Do you think $5 for the strategy guide is worth it? I havn't even looked at a Prima Strat guide in years and years so not sure what to expect.

I haven't felt that strategy guides have ever been worth it since the internet became ubiquitous. No real point to getting a game guide when there are probably a bunch of free game guides available at sites like IGN and GameFAQs.

Tried the demo. Ran beautifully with everything maxed. Though the game was kinda boring for me so I ain't getting it. No point in blowing stuff up except for blowing stuff up.
