WANTED: quiet time...will pay cash.
My computer as it is makes that old droning/highpitch whirr. Time to upgrade that stock CPU fan.

Mobo: Epox 8kda3+

Chip:AMD atlhon 64 3200+

Case: antec cool and quiet

Need something quiet, not too expensive. how do i know what will fit, Standard ATX? should i look at bigger fan sizes? what are some trusted brands out there.

recommendations, websites, wisdom.

Thanks people!

Eh, if it's a regular case, I'd say you throw a Scythe Ninja on there and run it passively. I'm running my Opteron 165 with one of those and it is barely makes any noise at all.

Any of the typical tower CPU HSFs should do. Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, C-M Hyper TX2,
OCZ Vendetta (92mm), etc. Generally the fan can be cranked back on a fan controller and still keep the CPU safe.
