when i power up, it posts then stops and says BOOT DISK FAILURE, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER...

i went into the bios and set boot order: cdrom,a,c... but that didnt seem to work

i havent gotten far enough to be able to install the OS yet...

see RIG for system specs

everything seems to be fine exept for this and im sure its a stupid oversite on my part

ALSO - cpu temp @ idle is about 46c with hsf cranked @ 6000 rpm - maybe too much AS3?

Make sure all your ide cables are plugged in correctly and make sure it isn't plugged in backwards.

Stupid question, but you are putting the XP in the CD drive at boot up, right? The hard drive should be blank and unpartitioned right now, since it's new.

prob fixed ~ was the jumpers on the dvd and cdrw... i had the master set to master and the slave set to slave, but that wasnt working. system wasnt seeing the dvd and cdrw for some reason... anyway... set the jumpers to cable select ( like i shouldve done in the 1st place :D ) and all is well.

thanks for the responses...
