Just built my 2nd HTPC

Just finished my 2nd HTPC to replace my previous Lian li with 6800agp / dothan @2.133.

I have gone for a enlight HTPC media case, 4gb of memory, usual dual layer DVD, and a 200gb hard drive. Best of all I bought the EVGA Matx sli board and 2 x 7600gs cards. All up and running on just a 250watt PSU 🙂
The cards are the xfx 500 / 900 overclock version chosen as they dont require power connector and are passively cooled (although I am going to have a 80 mm fan aimed at them end on just to get some airflow).
I currently have a venice 3000+ in their because AMD mucked up my RMA and sent that back instead of my x2 3800+ :-(

The evga board is pretty good, only issue so far is it doesnt like 4 x 1gb ram (shows 3.5gb in bios and 3.0gb in windows).
Not done much benching with it but quickly ran 3dmark 2003 and got 9700 with sli disabled adn 16500 with it enabled - 60% improvement aint bad (yes I know its not a game).

Why would you want an HTPC with SLI?

Unless it's a pure gaming HTPC? In which case, it's probably as noisy as an xbox360 😀

I cant remeber all the psu spec's think its around 18A on the 12v line. Nothing special, I have a 270 watt chieftex sfx psu I was going to use but no need at the moment.

Its not purely a gaming HTPC - but I want a new hdtv soon. PLus the fact I just wanted to try SLi
As for noise currently it is slightly noisy - only because I have no way of controlling the cpu fan and the 80mm I have facing the cards. Once I get a decent heatsink I can lower the fan speed down and it should be no problem - the 7600gs is passive anyway so I dont really need the additional fan.
