Here are the specs:

ESC K7S5A mobo
Athlon 1 ghz
128 PC100 ram
Samsung 8.4 gb HD
48x CD rom
24x/10x/40x CDRW
soft 56k modem
Matrox MGA 4 mb PCI video
Win ME
No name 250W PS (problem?)

I know, this computer sucks...........but my sister only had $400 to spend and thats all I could come up with. There are are few problems.....first, it runs VERY UNSTABLE! Windows would freeze up randomly and the computer would sometimes reboot itself for no reason. Right now, I think this is caused by the 250W PS. I got a 80MM case fan running and brought a pretty big HS with a 60mm fan for the CPU so I doubt the problems are caused by overheating. What do you guys think? Please help ASAP!

Those symptoms are consistant with an inadequate powersupply. You should upgrade to 300 or 350W from a respected maker such as Antec, Sparkle or Enermax.

$45 huh? That sounds reasonable...actually a little cheap but as long as it's a genuine Antec it should be ok.

opps, It was an AOpen 300W PS that cost $45, not an Antec......But is the AOpen PS any good? How about a Future 300W PS?

yep definitely sounds like a psu problem. don't take chances with your power supply. after all, it doesn't matter what you have in your comp, if you don't have power none of that stuff matters. get a good brand like antec, sparkle, or enermax. all three are very good so you can't go wrong with any of those. $50-70 will seem like a lot for a psu, but it is very important. you would have saved money in the long run had you bought a good one the first time around. its no problem though, just grab a couple dollars and go get one of the brands i mentioned at about 300-350 watts and you should be fine.

yeah.. I got a 300 watt .. Achme power supply (???) that is better than my Antec 300 that came with my 1030.
Don't buy into the hype. Go to the place where you got your comp and ask them which power supply they use with that board, I'm sure they've built plenty of systems with that same board and will know.
