So I'm rather proud of my old self. I just built my first new system in 5 years and went full RGB like a kid. LOL
This system replaces an i7-4790K 2x980 SLI system I built in 2015. A big leap forward.

This is what I got:
CORSAIR Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE Mid Tower Case

Intel Core i9-10900K

CORSAIR - iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX CPU Cooler

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-4000C16D-32GTZR

EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming, 24GB GDDR6X, iCX3 Technology, ARGB LED, Metal Backplate, 24G-P5-3987-KR

SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 2TB

2x WD Gold 10TB

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-G3-1000-X1

Corsair RGB LED Lighting PRO Expansion Kit (CL-8930002)

Corsair LL Series CO-9050072-WW LL120 RGB, 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan, 3 Fan Pack

Logitech G502 Hero

CORSAIR K70 RGB MK.2 RAPIDFIRE Low Profile

3DMark score:

PCMark Score: (which, BTW comes in number 43 on the leaderboard for my CPU/GPU combo [brag])

Problems I ran into:
My first PSU was faulty and the VGA connecters would not power any video card.

I stupidly put the ram into A1/B1 and was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why no approved RAM would boot with the XMP profile. Switched to A2/B2 and boom! In my defense, the Asus manual had NO information on correct RAM placement.

And I get the added benefit of being constantly hypnotized by my precious! Pic of first boot:

BTW, the RGB as shown in the shot seems fairly "tasteful", and not totally tacky too.

I hope one of my PC builds ever looks as nice as that one, LOL.

Hey, thanks! It felt kinda silly at first but I enjoyed building it and matching up the RGB elements.

RGB software is not great though. Trident's doesn't work at all. Corsair's is the best yet crashes frequently and the Asus software is just crap.

In all my years building systems, I've always gone best bang for buck cpu/gpu. This time I splurged and got the top cpu/gpu/mobo combo. No real regrets. :) It's kinda nice to be on a benchmark leaderboard., LOL

You easily got a 15% performance lift with those RGBs.
Serious part, excellent work.

Thank you! The PSU not working ONLY on the VGA power freaked me out because it made it seem my 3090 was DOA.

Luckily I had my old 980s to test and my old PSU to confirm.
