I just build 3 AMD 64 3000 (754)

1 for me 1 for my mom 1 for my GF.

mine has a Soltek NF3
My Moms has a Chaintech VIA K8T800
My GF has a MSI VIA K8 Mini ATX

All are using Corsair VS PC3200 2x512MB RAM for a total of 3GB or RAM

This is approximately how much I spent:
$80 x 3 for the RAM
$170 x 3 for the CPU/HS/Fan and Motherboard (Shoud have been $159 each but it was $30 extra for the mini ATX motherboard)

Grand Total: $750

I recycled the cases, hardrives, and ROM drives. and Graphics cards

I love the AMD 64 3000+ (754) NEWCASTLE!

Actually it was a combo of portatech, newegg, xtrempc, and some other places...
I really need to thank pricewatch.com

The plug is really for the 3000+ Newcastle- the best damn CPU on the market today!

All this bragging could be counter productive if I decide to build another system. Portatech already raised the price of their combo $5 since I bought mine. =(

No, because you are (most likely) using it illegally. "Home" users are not in the corporate environment, and you and your family seem to fall into the "home" user category.

i remember my college bought 200 dells. they all came with XP pro, but the college whacked 2000 on instead. so 200 xp discs were just sat there waitng for the bin.

so they let me nab a few. without the codes of course.

no worries.....went up to the it room, and noted down a few serial keys off the side of the computers, all 1-2 cpu licences :D
