-Asus PC-DL Deluxe
-2x 2,4Ghz LV Xeon/512Kb/533fsb (should hit 3,2Ghz easily)
-460W NMB PSU

I'll put this in my old case with

-1Gb (2x512Mb) PC3200 Transcend RAM
-2x Maxtor DM9+ SATA 120Gb (Will be RAID 1) for data
-ICP-Vortex U160 HW SCSI Raid controller w. 128Mb cache
-2x Hitachi 73LZX 10Krpm U160 SCSI disks (RAID 0) for OS
-LG 8x DL-DVDRW
-Geforce FX5900Ultra 256Mb VIVO
-misc stuff...

Got the board and xeons dirt cheap, so I couldn't resist 😛

Soo, what to test it with. Prolly be running FaD...

Well, got the board an xeons for 300,- shipped, PSU was also a reasonable deal @ 71,-... 😛

BTW, anybody running xeons in 1U boxes? The deal I got was for the LV model meant for 1U case, and comes with the 1U cooling solution= small all copper HS + fan. How good/ loud are these 1U coolers???

The HS + Fan wouldn't be the Intel windtunnels would they? Those are noisy.

You will probably need more cooling to get to 3.2.

For sure you will need a fan blowing at the voltage regulator and NB. Didn't take much on my PC-DL, just a little moving air.

Which mods will you have to do to get it to 3.2?

Nope, not windtunnels. These are about 2,5cm tall copper HS+ fan combo for 1U cases.
I'll be looking at a better cooling solution as soon as I have time.

As for mods, I'm still new to Xeon overclocking. My friend has the same combo running @ 16x200 = 3,2Ghz. The multiplier on the Xeon is only locked upwards, so you can lower it.
(std 18x133). Dunno what the mobo requires, but it's the new version (1.05). I'll try first with 18x166= 3Ghz, and if thats stable I would be happy with it too!!! 😛
