Wow! There's so little UD info on this forum compared to the flood of SETI. You'd hardly know we have a team. I guess it's because we're more competitive there and people like the more standardized scoring system, because I personally have a hard time seeing looking for aliens as being more compelling than helping to crunch data on cancer. To each his own though.
Congrats on eclipsing 300,000 points. I was just looking to brag a little myself since I just got over the 400,000 point hump this weekend. 🙂 So this was the perfect thread. I've actually had to curtail my efforts at home since it was costing too much money leaving 5 machines on 24/7. Now I've only got my fastest 2 at home on 24/7 and neither of those are exactly speed demons. But I made up for it by adding a couple more boxes at work which are on 24/7 anyway plus my convinced my cousin in college to do it since she was just running default Windows screensavers anyways. Once more of my family gets broadband maybe I can bring more of them onboard.
Our team's points leader, mheroux, (who has more than the next 3 members combined, who are all WAY ahead of everyone else as it is) is rapidly closing in on the 10,000,000 points mark. That's pretty impressive. It's also pretty cool that Anandtech's points per CPU hour are higher on average than every other major team I've seen. All those super geek boxes seem to be substantially more powerful powerful than just about all of the other teams. Unfortunately we just don't have enough of them.
