I have the promedia 4.1 for 2 years already and came upon a good deal for the 5.1 ultras. Now, do you think its worth upgrading to monster cable wires, or even making my own? If so where would be a good place to buy monster cable wires? or If i make the speaker wires does anyone know the best guage size that i should use?

No.
Unless you need them much longer, then lower guage cables will help.
Don't buy the overpriced monster crap either that sues anyone who says the word monster.

If you feel like making your own, the general rule of thumb is, within the limits of what will fit in the connectors, thicker is better. Sure, there are they mystics that will go on about ultra-performance shielding and 99.995% pure silver conductors and whatnot; but, assuming your cables aren't being run in a horribly high EMI environment, your best bet is probably to just buy a bunch of basic two strand power cord(the ordinary stuff used on ungrounded appliances) and drop the appropriate connectors onto the ends(if any, your speakers may well just use spring clips). Such cord isn't perfect; but it is quite good for the money. In all odds, though, unless you are planning some rather long cable runs, don't bother.

thanks for the help....I was gonna get the monster cables for cost..but it would still be a lot cheaper to make them myslef and plus i would be able to get a perfect length cable to make it nice and clean in my bedroom. I figured all this monster cable is bs. But i have to admit their component set for the xbox does look nice
